At National Locums we are currently seeking experienced Senior Medical Officers (SMO) and Medical Officers (MO) to join the Emergency & Trauma Department

This is an excellent opportunity to secure well-paid, flexible work with strong clinical support in a major suburban hospital, ideal for doctors seeking additional shifts, great rates, and exposure to a busy, well-supported facility.

As an RMO or SRMO in the Emergency Department, your duties will include:

  • Providing initial assessment, management, and stabilisation of patients presenting to ED.
  • Working closely with senior clinicians, registrars, and nursing staff.
  • Participating in trauma calls and resuscitation as appropriate to your level.
  • Ensuring thorough documentation of clinical findings and treatment plans.
  • Managing a variety of presentations including medical, surgical, trauma, and mental health cases.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Escalating concerns appropriately and contributing to safe patient flow through the department.

Requirements:

  • AHPRA Registration (General or Specialist)
  • 6-12 months of Emergency Medicine experience (within Australia preferred)
  • Current BLS / ALS Certification (CPD and mandatory training must be up-to-date)
  • Driver’s License preferred (Willing to travel within the region if needed)
  • Comfortable working across regional or suburban hospitals as required.
