Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – Queensland

You will be providing high-quality psychiatric services, including assessments, treatment planning, and consultation with multidisciplinary teams. Roles are available across General Adult, Older Persons, Inpatient, Community, and Forensic psychiatry, depending on your expertise and preference.

Location: Queensland, Australia
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Type: Locum – Flexible Dates Available
Rates: $2,000 – $2,500 per day (depending on experience & location)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM (some roles may offer flexibility with rostered after-hours)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and provide treatment for inpatients and/or outpatients.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
• Provide leadership and supervision to junior medical staff (if required).
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and best practice guidelines.
• Contribute to discharge planning and ongoing care strategies.

Requirements:

• Current registration with AHPRA – Specialist Registration in Psychiatry
• Recent experience working in Australian public mental health settings
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• FRANZCP or equivalent qualification (mandatory)
