National Locums is urgently seeking a Emergency Medicine Officer/Registrar, to support a well-established regional hospital in Bairnsdale, Victoria.

Bairnsdale Hospitals and Health Services  is one of the state’s major regional hubs. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic ED setting while enjoying a supportive team and relaxed regional lifestyle.

Location: Bairnsdale, Victoria (Regional City)
Dates: 4th August – 2nd November 2025
Rates:
• $1500 per day (Standard Shifts)
• $2000 per day (On-Call Shifts)
Accommodation + Travel Provided
Domestic flight reimbursement available (on approval)

Key Responsibilities (From Emergency Medicine Doctor):

  • Lead and manage the Emergency Department team during your shift
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients presenting with acute and emergency conditions
  • Supervise junior medical staff, ensuring safe and effective patient management
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals
  • Contribute to hospital protocols and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and peer review sessions
  • Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies
  • Act as the senior decision-maker during critical incidents or complex presentations
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and state healthcare regulations and best practices

Essential Requirements:

  • Current registration with AHPRA (Specialist Registration preferred)
  • Fellowship with ACEM or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Proven experience working in Australian Emergency Departments at level require level
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a regional hospital setting
