National Locums require a Consultant Anaesthetist for a permanent post based in a highly regarded Hospital in Midwest, WA.
$350,000 - $450,000 per year based on a 40 hour working week.
Performs clinical duties in the Anaesthetic Department and provides patient care as per WACHS-Midwest policy.
Assist with the management of patients in the High Dependence Unit and Emergency Department, particularly with airway management.
Ensures that medical staff assigned to Anaesthetic Department provides quality care to patients.
Participates fully in the hospital’s preventive health and primary care programs.
Supports nurses and other health workers in the performance of their clinical duties.
Supports colleagues in the performance of their clinical duties.
Maintains quality patient medical records according to health service protocols.
Participate in a roster of Anaesthetic services at Geraldton Hospital.
Liaises with members of the health care team and private sector to meet the needs of patients under their care.
Participates in Medical Advisory Committee and other committee meetings as requested.
Attends to medico legal issues that arise concerning patients that have been under their care and advises the Medical Director about complaints and clinical incidents.
Completes medical reports
Develops and maintains the skills necessary to provide safe medical practice, including record of maintenance of professional standards.
Participates in continued medical education activities.
Participates and assists in the continued medical education/in service training of medical student, nursing and medical colleagues.
Acts as a role model and supervisor/mentor to medical students and medical colleagues during their placement.
Participates in medical clinical meetings and quality improvement activities.
Engages in continuing medical education and ensures retention, registration and Fellowship of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
Participate and contribute to annual performance review.
Develops, implements and monitors Quality Assurance measures.
Participates in doctor’s clinical meetings, quality improvement and audit activities including departmental and WACHS Morbidity and Mortality meetings and Peer review activities. Contribution to the Clinical Incident Management policy (CIM)
Participates in peer review and case review meetings.
Participates in other quality assurance activities.
